About Peace With Christ Peace With Christ Christian School is located in Aurora, Colorado, a southeastern suburb of Denver. It is one of nearly 3000 Lutheran pre-schools, elementary, and high schools in the United States. The concept of establishing a Lutheran school in Aurora began in 1993 when a number of Peace With Christ Lutheran Church members expressed interest in starting a Christian school for their children and the children of Aurora. From its beginning, PWCCS was viewed as a way of touching the hearts and lives of local children and families. The idea developed quickly and our school opened its doors in August, 1994. PWCCS began with an enrollment of 60 students in kindergarten through 8th grade. There were four full-time teachers and a full-time teaching principal. Many parent volunteers filled in the gaps. Classrooms were combined into K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. The school shared the remodeled lower level of Peace With Christ Lutheran Church with its previously established Early Learning Center. During the 1996-1997 school year, the congregation undertook a major building campaign that added a large worship center that would serve double-duty as a full-size gymnasium. The former sanctuary was remodeled at this time to add four new classrooms. This made it possible to split the combined classes into individual classrooms as needed. Our enrollment grew to 165. In 1999, PWCCS completed the NLSA self-study and welcomed a visitation team. On September 1, 1999, PWCCS was accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation Association. Recently, we have introduced Computer Classes to our curriculum, greatly enhanced our playground with new equipment and had the grand opening of our school library. We now offer a school band program, several choruses, a Student Council and advanced math classes. Clearly, Peace With Christ Christian School is being led in a positive and growing direction thanks to God's will and strong positive leadership.
