1st Grade Teacher
Education has always been an important part of my family’s life. My grandfather taught school for 48 years in a one-room school in a small town in Southern Indiana. I followed in his footsteps by attending Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Nebraska.
As a Concordia-Seward Graduate, I have been teaching in the Lutheran School System for over 20 years, most of that in First Grade.
I am a native Hoosier and my family still lives in my hometown of Seymour, Indiana.
My husband Duane & I still enjoy the parenting challenges of 3 grown children and the joys of grandparenting 6 grandchildren, ages 10 years – 2 months.
After spending many days in the classroom, I have come to find that children meet with success most consistently when there is a respectful, lively, fun and personal relationship between student and teacher. If the learning environment is interesting, exciting & fun, learning will take place in meaningful, wonderful, lasting ways.
