Stanford Achievement Tests Results
June, 2011
In April, we took our annual assessment tests to see how our students are progressing and evaluate changes or additions to our curriculum that need to be made. I hope this will give you a brief look at how our students did compared with other students taking the same test.
Grade Reading Math Complete Battery
1st 74%il 74%ile 75%ile
2nd 77%ile 77%ile 74%ile
3rd 78%ile 72%ile 73%ile
4th 83%ile 79%ile 79%ile
5th 73%ile 67%ile 71%ile
6th 78%ile 91%ile 81%ile
7th 71%ile 90%ile 76%ile
8th 79%ile 96%ile 87%ile
These results are the averages for the entire class as listed. Your student’s individual results will go home with the final report card. Because of state testing, such as the C-SAP for Colorado, fewer public schools are taking the kind of test we do. Therefore, it is safe to say that the results can be seen how we compare to (mostly) other private or parochial schools.
What do these numbers mean?
These percentiles tell us how our students scored compared to other students in the same grade, taking the same test. As an example, our 4th graders (as a class) scored at the 83%ile for Reading. This means that our 4th grade class scored higher than 83% of the other 4th graders from other schools taking the same test. The 8th grade scored (as a class) in the 96%ile for Math, meaning that they scored higher than 96% of the other 8th graders taking the same test. The complete battery percentiles are listed, as well. You could see these as kind of the “overall average” for all the tests given. The 1st graders, for example, scored in the 75%ile for their complete battery of tests meaning that they scored higher, on all the tests combined, than 75% of all other students who took the Stanford Achievement Test. Simply stated, our students did a great job!
